We had a stirling effort from our guest DJs last month, but are returning back to the tried and true combo of Aquaboogie & Jet Jaguar for the month of July. This is the next installment of the usual laptop DJing shenanigans happening on the first Wednesday of every month.

We had a lot of fun last Thursday doing a wee interview and a loose set of "original material" (ahem) on Radio Active last week. Thanks to Pete & Andy who host the Session for inviting us to play. Pete was on interviewing duties...

This Thursday Malty Media are playing live-to-air on Radio Active show The Session. The show is streaming if you want to check in. The Session is on from 9-11pm Thursday NZST. (Check your time zone.)

May's gig was the best we've done so far. We had a good turnout, and plenty of response (and occasionally abuse) from the audience, which was gratifying.

(We should give props to Billy and Janet for staying loyal to us during the dark days during the bloody arts festival when Katipo was empty.)

Musically it was a kind of back-to-basics affair. I reworked some more sprawly ambient stuff I did for the first gig, and Michael played a selection of odd stuff plus a dubout of the theme to the hit 1970s sitcom Taxi.

This month we've invited in guest DJs for the first time.  Expect an hour of finest Italian soundtrack dishes and other oddities from DJ Scout (veteran of Radio Active's Deep show) and the Defenestrator (through the round window).  The usual Malty Media trip will follow. . .
