So long cafe gigs, hello radio show
After a year of maintaining a regular night at Katipo Cafe we've
decided to let it go and channel that energy into our radio chakras. Or somesuch.
Last Tuesday was our inaugural adventure into radio, at least our first dedicated show. A very excited listener called up and asked "Is this real?" which I thought was pretty awesome. We look forward to expanding further into the ontological and epistomological consultancy markets in the future.
"Have we got a video?"
We've been somewhat remiss when it comes to mentioning our involvement with an upcoming CD compilation on this site... well, we're on a compilation called '...Apropos of Nothing' and were two of the three bods involved with the compiling and releasing of the thing.
The Malty Media tune that appears on the CD also has a rather awesome, cut-up video from Oneedo, which you may watch below.
Interview and live-to-air set from The Session
We had a lot of fun last Thursday doing a wee interview and a loose set of "original material" (ahem) on Radio Active last week. Thanks to Pete & Andy who host the Session for inviting us to play. Pete was on interviewing duties...
So, have a listen to the interview and the music that followed. I always talk a lot at these occasions. You can either download the full file (25.5MB) or listen using this thing:
The end of Malty Media (no. 4, anyway)
Wednesday night turned out really well, from a somewhat inauspicious start. Caught up in the small matter of buying a house, I got there half an hour late! Genius.
Stu played some super-early Kraftwerk material, The Black Dog and a great tune from Thomas Fehlmann's album from last year, Hönigpumpe, deigning to "welcome" me with Jean-Michel Jarre.
Retroactive Retrospective
Well, last night's brief set for Retroactive went down a treat, really.
As befits a radio station celebration, there were fans of many styles there, but it was nice to get some fairly... astonishing... responses from a couple of punters.
